Greg Matzker, Artistic Director Greg has been involved in theatre for twenty years, with over one hundred shows and concerts to his name. Greg started out in theatre when he was just sitting there watching his sister audition for the high school musical - that is until the teacher saw him and cast him in the show! Greg has since gone on to play starring roles in many shows such as the Prince in Cinderella, Albert in Bye Bye Birdie, and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, just to name a few. He has been involved with numerous companies including The Muny, Ozark Actors Theatre, and the famous Goldenrod Showboat. He has also made brief appearances at the Fox Theatre with the American Ballet Company and the Stuttgart Ballet as well as performing in a production of Falsettos with New Jewish Theatre, which was named best musical production in St. Louis that year. Being an accomplished dancer, Greg has won many awards including Midwest Swing Champion, and is quickly becoming an in-demand choreographer for high school shows, community theatres, and professional theatre companies. Greg has also been involved in many concerts, starting as a featured soloist in the All State College Choir as well as singing for the St. Louis Symphony Choir for ten years. With the symphony, he has had the honor of performing in Leonard Slatkin’s farewell concert, the reopening of the Continental Building, and their performance of Beethoven’s Ninth, which is still frequently shown on television nationwide. Lastly, in case you were wondering, yes, his sister got cast in that first show as well. |

Brad Hofeditz, Lead Chairman Brad is very pleased to have been asked to serve as Lead Chairman for Marble Stage Theatre. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. His major was vocal music education and his principle area was piano. Brad first worked with Greg in a production of Fiddler on the Roof that they did with Characters & Company back in 19??. Both Characters & Company and Marble Stage Theatre remind him very much of a theatre group he started "many" years ago and thrived for 18 years called Edwardsville Junior Theatre. They presented two musicals a year, with Brad serving as stage director, music director, orchestra director, and sometimes even choreographer. The bulk of those years were while he was teaching 8th grade general music and choirs in the Edwardsville School District. Since then, Brad has worked with many of the major theatre companies, community theatres, and schools in the Saint Louis area as musical director, vocal coach, and accompanist including Stages St. Louis, New Line Theatre, Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts, Florissant Valley Community College, St. Louis University High School, and Alton Little Theatre, for which he was nominated for the Arts for Life Award as Best Musical Director for Dames at Sea. He has worked in 184 musical productions of 99 different musicals. This past year he did the musical direction for The Boy Friend at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and played for Sugar at Eureka High School, Disney's High School Musical at Hazelwood East High School and Guys And Dolls at St. Louis University High School. He will be doing the muscial direction for the two musicals, Oklahoma and Nunsense A-Men, that will be presented by Marble Stage this summer. He is presently in his 4th season with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus. Three years ago he fulfilled every musician's dream when he performed with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Chorus at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Believe it or not, Brad still has time to hold down a part-time job as Chancel Choir Director at First Christian Church in Edwardsville, Illinois, and recently retired from a full-time job as records officer in the Registrar's Office at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Brad is very anxious to see Marble Stage Theatre grow in productions, production values, membership, and membership commitment. He hopes he can be part of this growth for many years to come. |

Christine Rezek, Secretary/Treasurer Christine Rezek is going into her third year with Marble Stage. She loves theatre and helping Marble Stage attain its goals. The role of Secretary/Treasurer is just her latest step with the company, since Christine has been jumping in behind the scenes for quite a while now. By day, Christine works for a construction company and raises three beautiful daughters. Christine's biggest goal with Marble Stage is trying to keep Greg from doing the programs...it's not pretty when he's left in charge of programs! |

He has previously worked as stage manager for "Fiddler on The Roof," "Way Back On Broadway," and "Oliver!" as well as a stint as Secretary/Treasurer, though he bows to Christine's superior skills in that role. By day, Jim works at an orthopedics office in South County. By night, Jim is a sci fi geek who loves cuddling up with a good book and a couple of dogs. |

Nicki Swanson, Historian Nicki comes from a long-ish line of performers - her grandfather was a jazz musician in Iowa and her father is a camerman and an editor for a new station as well award-winning lighting designer and stage hand. Rather than follow in her grandfather's footsteps, Nicki chose to follow in her father's and become a black-clothed blur in the dark, working behind the scenes for Marble Stage. She's been a stagehand for such productions as Way Back on Broadway and Oliver! as well as The Breakfast Club and the Marble Stage's Fairy Tale Theatre, all invisibly. Funnily enough, her first encounter with Marble Stage was not as a stage hand but as an audience member coming to see a production of Fiddler On The Roof in which several of her friends participated. After the show, said friends told her she ought to come along and do something for Marble Stage's next show. The rest, as the cliché goes, is history. Now Nicki has gone from a stagehand to Historian and has a good deal of work ahead of her as Marble Stage and its shows just won't slow down! She hopes with all her heart that her duties as Historian won't keep her from being able to attend all the "They Might Be Giants" concerts she hopes to see this summer! |
